2022 Middle School Mission Week

Rising 6th-8th Graders
June 12th – June 17th
Hometown Mission Week – Jacksonville, FL
Cost: $200

We could not be more delighted to offer another Hometown Mission Week in 2022 after such an amazing week last summer with our middle school students. We’ll spend time learning about the unique needs in our Jacksonville and Beaches communities, serve with some outreach partners, and have tons of fun! This week is a hybrid of a day-camp experience with two overnight lock-ins and a trip down the Itchetuknee at the end of the week! We will begin with a dinner and a lock-in at the church on the evening of Sunday, June 12th, and conclude the week in the afternoon on Friday, June 17th. On Monday through Thursday of Hometown of Mission Week, we will begin each day at Christ Church at 8:00 a.m. and return for pickup at 5:00 p.m. at the church.

To conclude the service portion of the week, we will then host all participants for the second lock-in on Thursday night before the trip to Itchetuknee on Friday. Priority will be given to middle school students who register, but high school students looking to help lead groups should register for our leadership program and reach out to Brooks Slater, Director of Youth Ministries.

We will be keeping an eye on the state of the coronavirus pandemic as we get closer to summer, but we may ask participants to wear masks at work sites or submit negative tests.

Payment: Participants and families may either pay in full when registering or pay in two separate increments. If paying in separate installments, a $100 deposit will be required when registering, and then we will send a separate link for you to pay the second deposit, which will be due by April 15th. If the cost makes it prohibitive for your participant to register and attend our mission week, please inquire to Brooks Slater, Director of Youth Ministries, about need-based financial assistance for your family.

Refund Policy: Refunds will be considered only if (1) The participant’s spot is filled by another participant on the waitlist, (2) There is a medical illness precluding a participant from attending the event per a doctor’s recommendation (note required), (3) The participant tests positive for COVID-19 or is quarantined because of exposure to COVID-19 in accordance to CDC guidelines, or (4) A death of a family member or friend resulting in the participant attending memorial/funeral activities. Notwithstanding, Christ Episcopal Church will not refund any fees which cannot be retrieved from third-party vendors. If fees are incurred for the waitlisted participant (such as airline transfer fees), the canceling participant’s refund (if any) will be adjusted to cover those fees.

Questions?: If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Brooks Slater or Landon Leiker, Assistant Director of Youth and Family Ministries. We are excited to have you join us for this year’s Hometown Mission Week in Jacksonville!
