Announcing a New Role for Fr. Keith: Vicar
For those of us not familiar with Anglican lingo, a vicar represents the chief pastor of a church or diocese.
The Rev. Keith W. Oglesby has been appointed to the position of Vicar, effective in June 2021. He is enthusiastic about moving into this new role: to support and advise Fr. Tom in serving the people and mission of Christ Church. He will have overall responsibilities for the programs and ministries of the parish.
Fr. Keith was first called to Christ Church in January 2019 as an Associate Rector. An Atlanta native, he and his wife Lynn met at Georgia State University. He had a twenty-four year business career with corporations such as FedEx, Delta Air Lines, and GE, serving in sales, management, and executive positions. Lynn and Keith have three adult children, Lauren (married to Shaun), Will (married to Corri), and Katherine (married to Cory). They are proud grandparents to Will and Corri’s two sons, Oren and Oakley, who live in St. Augustine Beach.
Keith experienced a call to ministry throughout his adult life which he followed as a parish lay leader. He went through a diocesan discernment process to confirm his call to the priesthood in 2002. Keith received his Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology and was ordained priest in 2007. Keith served two parishes near Atlanta, including 9 ½ years as Rector of Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit. During his time there, the church nearly doubled in size and completed a significant building expansion. Keith served as a convocational dean in the Diocese and supported Bishop Wright in different strategic initiatives.
Please join us in congratulating and praying for Fr. Keith as he transitions to this expanded leadership role.
